About the TGV     (Train a grande vitesse)

·       The aerodynamic carriages travel on a speed track, which has only a few bends or inclines, this is how the train can reach high speeds safely without crashing

·       All passengers travelling on this train must be seated

·       You need to reserve a seat on this train   (réserver votre place)

·       You can buy a single ticket    (un aller simple)  or a return ticket (un aller retour), first or second class

Like all French train tickets you need to stamp it in a machine prior to getting on the train.( composter votre billet)

·       There are ticket officials called les contrôleurs who check your tickets have been stamped.

·       The driver of the TGV has a screen, like a radar which shows the track ahead. This means that the train can be brought to a halt in time if anything is on the track.
